Music & my mind
My name is Warren, and I founded Music & Minds to encourage others to look after their mental health through music.
Music has always been my escape. Growing up, whenever I felt overwhelmed or needed a break from studying, I’d sit down at the piano and just let my fingers move, improvising as I went. And something magical would happen: I’d begin to feel better.
I know I’m not the only one who feels the pressure of being a teenager. Seeing others around me struggle with stress made me wonder: could music help them the way it helps me?
With this project, I’ve attempted to harness the scientific insights to pinpoint how and why music makes us feel better — and to encourage public spaces to curate their soundscapes with mental health in mind.
My mission
1. To promote the use of music as a tool to reduce anxiety and improve mental wellbeing
2. To educate others and improve public understanding of the science behind music and mental health
3. To provide original compositions and curated playlists for mental health — and empower others to build their own
